For the second time, World Series of link vao w88 circuit events will be staged at the Emerald Resort and Casino in Johannesburg, South Africa. “There will be six WSOP tournament rings up for grabs over six days – making this the biggest and most prestigious poker tournament ever to be staged in South Africa,” said Emerald Resort and Casino CEO Martin Rice.

Hosting the second annual World Series of Poker Africa will be five-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and 1998 WSOP Main Event Champion Scotty Nguyen.

“The first WSOP Africa tournament, which was staged in October 2010, was a hugely popular event among players and fans alike, and we have little doubt that the festival of poker that will be WSOP Africa 2012 will be even more exciting!” Rice said.

The tournament action kicks off tomorrow with a $350 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Ring event. The Main Event will begin on February 24th and carry a $3,300 buy-in. The series includes a $10,400 No Limit Hold’em High-Roller tournament as well as a separate, one-day ladies’ tournament, with a WSOP Circuit ladies pendant as the prize.

Scotty ‘The Prince’ Nguyen will participate in a charity tournament scheduled for February 23rd, as well as serve in the position as official host for the WSOP Africa series. Nguyen, who won the 1998 World Series of Poker Main Event and also a bracelet for the 2008 WSOP $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event, is somewhat a controversial figure in the world of poker. His bad behavior in the 2008 series included “objectionable and even rule-breaking behavior.”

Commenting on his upcoming role at the WSOP in South Africa, Nguyen joked, “You know, the Prince has been all over the world baby, you name it: Australia, Asia, Europe, but this is my first time going to South Africa and I’m so excited to come out and share this great game we love with the players there, to get to know them and to just have a good time baby… Just make sure the people at the Emerald protect me from any lions and I promise you we’ll have a lot of fun baby!”

Sit ‘n’ Go Leaderboard Races Prove Popular

A new cycle of Sit ‘Win’ Go leaderboard races kicks off today at Titan Poker, ranking players on their finishing positions in sit ‘n’ go tournaments. A total of $4,000 in cash prizes is up for grabs each week and there is heated competition among the players to rank among the prize winners.

The Sit ‘Win’ Go promotion has been running since December and has proved quite popular among Titan Poker’s players. The competition debuted as the first promotion to award players for each sit ‘n’ go tournament they played, ranking them on their finishing position and not only if they won the tournament. The higher a player’s finishing position, the more ranking points he would receive.

The promotion is divided into four competitive categories, based on the buy-ins at the sit ‘n’ go tournaments. The Low Leaderboard ranks players participating in tournaments with buy-ins of $1 to $5. The Medium Leaderboard ranks players participating in tournaments with buy-ins of $10 to $20. And the High Leaderboard anks players participating in tournaments with buy-ins of $30 and up.

At the beginning of February a new category was added. The Double Up Leaderboard considers player participation in all Double Up tournaments with buy-ins of $2 and up. Many players prefer the action at Double Up sit ‘n’ go tournaments and they are eagerly fighting it out for position on the Double Up leaderboard.

To participate in the Sit ‘Win’ Go promotion and become eligible for the weekly prizes, players must opt-in on the Titan Poker website. Full information about the leaderboard point system and the prize pools is posted as well. The leaderboards are automatic and update every 30 minutes with the latest ranking of players.
